Friday, August 1, 2008: Big Diamond Speedway, PA
Before Friday, August 2nd, it seemed like forever since the last ARDC midget race on July 11th! I couldn’t wait to compete again, especially at my favorite track-Big Diamond. Apparently many other drivers were looking forward to it also because 34 midgets signed in!
Starting 5th in my heat race, I worked my way up to 2nd. Our WildLife Photography, Tire King, and PowerMist sponsored racecar was working very well. In the feature, I started 11th and finished 8th. I had my hopes set on a top-3 finish, but with the stout competition that started up front, the team was in no way disappointed.
In an email from the Winner’s Circle BBQ, Dirck Noel, the owner wrote, “Winner’s Circle BBQ = Good Results.” This proved to be true once again and we thank him and Laura for the delicious grub! Soon, it will be “Winner’s Circle BBQ = Winner’s Circle.”
Thank you also to all the family, friends, and fans that came to support Stevens Racing. I tried to catch as many of you as I could, but I know I missed some.
Saturday’s race at Susquehanna was rained out. The next ARDC midget race is on Saturday, August 16th at New Egypt Speedway, NJ. I look forward to seeing some of you there. As always, please let me know if you’re planning on attending.
